Esther Flees
Esther M. Flees, age 87 of 3349 Whiting Avenue went to her eternal glory. Saturday, February 20th at Care Partners, Stevens Point while under the care of Ministry Home Care and Hospice with her loving family by her side. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday at St. Adalbert Catholic Church, Rosholt. Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm Tuesday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel, Stevens Point and again from 10:00am until time of service Wednesday at the church. Esther’s first cousin Rev. Chester Osowski will officiate, burial will be in the parish cemetery. A rosary will be prayed at 7PM Tuesday at the funeral chapel.
Esther was born May 11, 1922 in the Town of New Hope, a daughter of the late John and Eva (Bushman) Yenter. She attended local schools. She married Joseph Flees October 21, 1939 at St. Adalbert Catholic Church. The couple recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. The couple farmed on County Road OO Rosholt until 1988. They then moved to 3360 Evergreen Dr. Rosholt and have spent the last two and a half years at Care Partners in Stevens Point
Esther was a member of the Saint Adalbert Rosary Society. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing, family parties, dancing and genealogy and spending time with her grandchildren. Esther also enjoyed crocheting afghans for her children, grandchildren and church events.
Survivors include her husband Joseph-Stevens Point, ten daughters: Dorothy (Dan)Kropidlowski-Rosholt, Toni (Jay) Magnuson-Plymouth, MN, Ramona (Ray) Biadasz-Rosholt, Bonnie Zietlow-Pewaukee, Diane (Len) Cychosz-Custer, Marian (Ralph) Gagas-Custer, Elaine (Larry) Gagas-Rosholt, Cindy (Chris) Bestul-Cleveland, WI, Esther (Joe) Retzer-Brooklyn Park, MN and Joie (David) Flees-Lauderman,-Austin, TX; three sons: Eugene (special friend Connie) Flees-Osceola, IA, James (Barbara) Flees-Bloomington, MN and Ralph (Kris) Flees-Savage, MN; two younger brothers: John (Gladys) Yenter-Rosholt and Casimir Yenter- Stevens Point; 26 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Esther was preceded in death by three sisters: Angeline Lepak, Rose Wiza and Annie Flees; son-in-law Tom Zietlow and great granddaughter Tracy Suchowski.
Esther’s family would like to give a special thank you to hospice and the staff at Care Partners for the gracious and wonderful care they provided.
