Obituary for June Krueger

Juno (June) Louise Krueger (Harder) passed away on May 5th, 2018 after living a full and gifted life of 94 years. Juno was born on June 25th, 1923 in the town of Rib Falls, the youngest of 11 children born to Henry and Hermine (Grabel) Harder.
She was preceded in death by all of her siblings: Erma (Leonard Juhlke), Eldora (Harvey Woller), Lucinda (Ervin Koeller), Sylvia (Louis Wadzinski), Hilbert (Delores Rath), Hilda (Ervin Lange), Walter (Vernette Laufer), Lester (Pearl Gerhardt), Victor (Valeria Pruss), and her twin sister Junette (Wilbur Pruss).

She married Donald Krueger of Wausau, was divorced, and then married Lyle Schmitt of Merrill. She raised 5 children who survive her death: John Krueger, Edward Krueger, Juno Krueger, Georgia Schmitz, and Kurt Krueger (Renee Marino). She has four grand children: Laurel, Robin, Jennifer and Rachel and 7 great grand children. She raised her family in Wausau and Stevens Point. June worked 25 years at River Pines nursing home retiring at the age of 80. She then volunteered as a foster grandparent at McKinley grade school in Stevens Point for nearly 12 years. One of her greatest joys was being grandma to all the children. June also enjoyed animals, particularly dogs, often stopping to pet every dog she would see. June always had a song in her heart as she enjoyed singing and bringing joy to people’s lives. Her songs, her good heart, and ready smile, will be missed by many.

A Celebration of Life Service for June will be held at 8:00 PM on Thursday May 10, 2018 at the Shuda Funeral Chapel, 3200 Stanley St. Stevens Point. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM on Thursday until the time of service at the funeral chapel.
