Lorraine G. Wiernik, age 81, of Junction City, passed away peacefully at her home on Christmas evening.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Lorraine will be held at !0:00 AM on Monday December 31, 2018 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church-Mill Creek. Rev. Dennis Stanchik will officiate. Burial will be at the parish cemetery. Friends and family will gather to share memories from 3:00 - 7:00 PM on Sunday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel- 3200 Stanley St. Stevens Point. A general rosary will be prayed at 4:00 PM at Shuda's on Sunday.
Lorraine was born March 4, 1937 in Stevens Point, the daughter of Leo and Agnes (Bikowski) Slowinski. She attended Green Meadow School and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1955. She began working as a secretary at Gerber Supply and worked there for 30 years until her retirement. Lorraine married David Wiernik on June 23, 1956 at St. Bartholomew Church. She was a proud member of the Choraleers, she enjoyed cutting grass at the church, plucking chickens, visiting with family and friends, and taking care of her dogs and cats. She attended every church picnic she could with her companion "Loopie".
Lorraine is survived by her daughter Sandy (Kory) Braatz, Jct. City. Her grandson Baylor (girlfriend Olivia Molle) Braatz. Four sisters: her twin sister: Delores (Nubbs) Miller, Stevens Point; Leona Dekarske, Wisconsin Rapids; Barbara (Joseph) Rybicki, Wisconsin Rapids; Elaine (Leonard) Przybelski, Jct. City. Three brothers: Robert (Lucy) Slowinski, Stevens Point; Gregory Slowinski, Stevens Point; Deloyd (Shirley) Slowinski, Stevens Point. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, infant brother Richard and her brother-in-law Jim Dekarske.
