Helen F. Zeis age 90, formerly of Plover, passed away at her home in Wisconsin Rapids on Wednesday evening January 29, 2020.
A Mass Of Christian Burial for Helen will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday February 4, 2020 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in the town of Buena Vista. Entombment will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Calvary Cemetery Crypt in Eau Claire.
Friends and family will gather to share memories from 4:00 - 6:00 PM on Monday at the Plover - Shuda Funeral Home: 2400 Plover Road. Visitation will also be held from 10:00 AM Tuesday until the time of services at the church.
Helen was born September 22, 1929 in Annandale, MN, the daughter of Rinehardt and Ethel (Driver) Maurer. She earned her nursing accreditation and worked for the State of Wisconsin, as a nurse until her retirement. Helen married Arthur Zeis on March 15, 1946 in South Haven, MN. The couple lived in MN, ND, Milwaukee, Wind Lake, and settled in Fall Creek in 1980, when they retired. In 2007 the couple moved to Plover. Helen has lived in Wisconsin Rapids for the past four years. Helen was a lifetime member of the V.F.W., she was dedicated to her faith, she read the entire Bible many times over. She enjoyed all kinds of mind games, including puzzles, word search, and reading. Helen also enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino, to try her luck with family.
Helen is survived by her children: Shirley Mendez, Baraboo; Mary Nelson, Gladstone, MI; Donna Rae (Randy) Polansky, Kellner; William (Debra) Zeis, Bark River, MI. 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. 3 brothers and 5 sisters also survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arthur in 2007, their daughter Darlene, and one brother.
