Frank C. Mancl, age 75, of Grand Chute, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2020 at his home.
A private service for immediate family members is being arranged with the assistance of Shuda Funeral Home in Stevens Point. Burial will take place at St. Bronislava Cemetery in Plover, Wisconsin. There is no visitation per Frank’s wishes. Condolences and thoughts are welcome to be left on Frank’s memorial page on the Shuda Funeral Home website.
Frank was born on January 22, 1945 in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin to the late Clarence and Theresa (Rybicki) Mancl.
Frank is survived by his son Mark Mancl (Sheboygan, WI); daughter Carissa (David) Ullrich (New London, WI); step daughter Kristine (Olander) Clark (New London, WI); brother Marvin (Sally) Mancl (Wisconsin Rapids, WI); brother John (Mary) Mancl (Miramar Beach, FL); sister Joann Steinberg (Wisconsin Rapids, WI); former wife Kathleen Mancl (Stevens Point, WI); and former wife Nance Mancl (Amhurst, NH).
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary (Levendoske) Mancl, and his brother William Mancl.
Frank began his strong work ethic as a child, delivering newspapers, and carrying golf clubs as a caddy at Bullseye Country Club. Frank graduated from Assumption High School in 1963. While there, he participated in football, and was a sprinter on the track team. He was proud of his unbroken school record as a member of the 4 X 100 yard relay team.
On January 23, 1965 he married the late Mary (Levendoske) Mancl.
Frank briefly attended Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri, and later graduated from Wisconsin State University Stevens Point in 1971, with a Bachelor's Degree in Business.
As a young man, Frank worked diligently at Mongomery Wards, the U.S. Postal Service, and the State Job Service, all while attending classes and raising his young family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, playing cards, and racing his Chevy (sometimes even at the race track). Frank was a talented bowler and liked to reminisce about bowling with his friends on the Brig and Tork Trucking teams. He was also a very good golfer, scoring an eagle on a championship course in Hawaii that hosts a PGA tour event. He loved watching that event knowing that he scored better than the Pros!
Frank began his professional career at Sentry Insurance in Stevens Point after obtaining his degree. He was a dedicated, loyal, and skilled employee specializing in Commercial Underwriting, later as an insurance executive and independent consultant. His career took him to Scottsdale AZ, Concord MA, back to Stevens Point WI, Baltimore MD, Delafield WI, Brookfield WI, and Bedford NH. Later in his career he worked for several different companies, including John Deere Transport, specializing in insurance for over the road truckers and trucking companies.
Frank had a lifelong motivation to work hard and generously provided educational and life experiences for his children and grandchildren. His knowledge, skills, and work ethic were highly valued and resulted in him being recruited for new work opportunities. Frank finally retired, on his third try, at age 70 in 2015.
Frank loved attending his children and grandchildren’s sporting and performing arts events. He was a loyal Packer fan, and enjoyed watching football, baseball, golf, and news shows. Frank valued family traditions. Christmas Eve at mom and dad’s telling jokes and drinking Manhattans with his siblings while telling stories of various broken window incidents being a fond memory.
Frank cherished Christmas mornings with his grandchildren, always arriving very early, before they woke up. Another tradition dear to his heart was the yearly family gathering to celebrate his daughter’s birthday at the cottage on Berry Lake.
Frank enjoyed many years together with Nan and life with their dogs. He especially enjoyed visits to spend time with their grandchildren, and gave his family an amazing gift of a Christmas Vacation at Disney with his children and grandchildren. He always enjoyed a good steak, good sarcasm, and a trip to the casino.
Frank was a good man, deeply devoted to his children and grandchildren, and will be dearly missed.

Mark and Cari; I am sure that Frank's passing will leave a void in your lives. By reading the obituary I realize there is so much I forgot. Thank you for the memories of his life and the selected photos were so nice to view. He did enjoy life and lived it to the fullest. You are right Mark, in his early years speed limits were merely suggestions! That '63 Chevy was a beast from the view of a 12 year old.
