Andrew John Ostertag, beloved son of John and Mary, and loving father of Mackenzie and Sydney, died unexpectedly on January 30, 2021, at the age of 42.
Andrew graduated from Wausau East High School where he was a member of the orchestra and Camarata Singers. He spent his four years of high school as a cellist with the Wausau Symphony. Andrew attended UWSP where he earned a music degree in piano and cello performance, and played cello with the Central Wisconsin Symphony.
As the owner of Andyman Music in Marshfield, he participated in many musical venues in the Stevens Point and Marshfield areas. Andrew especially enjoyed working with the staff and special education students at McDill Elementary in Stevens Point, and was a proud volunteer member of the Town of Dewey EMS Team.
Survivors include his parents, daughters, their mother, Kelly Ostertag, good buddies, Dan and Dave Kieffer, and many friends and relatives. Because of Covid, private family services will be held.

I am absolutely shocked at the loss of Andy and give my heartfelt condolences to his family, I knew Andy through East High playing cello as well as hanging out frequently. Andy's laugh was awesome and that's one of the things that I will remember the most. His contagious laugh. He was always there if you needed him and he really enjoyed his friendships. Andy was always a tinkerer, putting a massive stereo in his Dads Buick, or messing with other audio equipment. He enjoyed all things music and his talent for Cello and Piano were amazing. A true loss to the music community. Again, my heartfelt condolences to his family.

I was saddened to hear of Andy's death. I always remembered him as being a funny, smart, and caring guy in high school. My condolences to his family.

To Andy's families, I worked with Andy at McDill School. Andy was never at a loss for words. No matter how a person's day was playing out, he always made you laugh. Whenever Andy was asked a technology question, he was more than willing to answer your question or show you how it was done. It is unfortunate he left this world so soon. Once the heaviness of your grief has become lighter, may his memories bring you comfort. I am so sorry for your loss. You have my sympathy.

Andy was a delight to work with. I used to look forward to every Hospice fundraiser we did, knowing that Andy would be there, providing excellent sound. May his memory be a blessing.
